A. Over the years in clinical practice, I carefully considered formulations of supplements prior to prescribing them. Certain formulas are more bioavailable than others, thus providing better results. I always considered the combination of nutrients, the molecular formula and potency before making a decision. Many of the supplements I prescribed were either international and therefore difficult to get hold of, very expensive or always out of stock! This prompted me to put together formulas that I felt would work better for my clients, at a competitive cost and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
A. To have my range of specialist supplements which I have already started working on.
A. In my clinic, I realised I was often prescribing more than one supplement to my clients to support hair health in terms of hair growth, and to encourage better quality hair. Our hair health is a reflection of our inner health including genetic makeup, our lifestyle factors such as alcohol intake and smoking, and our diet. This is why it is advised to seek nutritional advice as supplements should not replace a healthy diet and lifestyle.
It is important to remember that not all supplements are the same. As a nutritionist, I carefully put together a formula which includes key nutrients involved in hair health, and cofactors to facilitate absorption of the nutrients, and finally the molecular formula itself to enhance the uptake of the nutrients.
A. Although there is no one size-fits-all approach in Nutrition, we also know that many of us are simply not getting optimal amounts of nutrients. Whether it is relying on processed foods, or not getting the adequate intake of fruit and vegetables a day, or if there are underlying health conditions which may be affecting digestion and absorption thus resulting in deficiencies and a sub optimal nutritional status. A nutrient support formula is helpful to top up levels of key nutrients in our body. I am always preaching about Preventative Medicine therefore there is no harm in thinking ahead!
